<A page in progress>
I have a few novels, in various stages of work, all hoping to one day reach a polished enough state in which to leave the nest and find a home, hopefully with a publisher.
I call it a page in progress because, well, I’m not going to stop writing any time soon so it will be added to when I write something new. Also I’m really bad at titles, so a lot of what goes up here under one name is bound to be changed at some point when I actually come across what I consider to be a decent title for it.
Lifelines. A contemporary fantasy novel. Currently undergoing editing
Liz Jamieson’s life is turned upside down when her dying sister confesses; Diana’s husband is not the father of her son. Diana’s last request is for Liz to run with Max.
Out of love and duty, Liz spirits Max away to the South Island, hoping to formulate a plan and stay one step ahead of the abusive man Max calls dad. When Max’s real father turns up, he is anything but what Liz expected.
Resurgence: Branwen. A fantasy novel.
When Riana discovers that her mother has all but sold her into marriage to the Prince to get rid of her gambling debts, she decides that it’s time to create a new life. As Branwen, she finds work in a tavern and begins to learn how to protect herself should anyone come looking for Riana.
But there are things afoot that are beyond her control, and soon she finds herself returning to the city to save her mother, unaware that she is being manipulated by something much more dangerous than the Royal family.
Resurgence: Ayden. A sequel to Branwen.
With Ayden (Branwen) comatose, it’s up to Falen to find a way to bring her back from the demon’s touch – and the only way to do that is to locate a dragon. When he finally finds K’var, the dragon unlocks Ayden’s Kin abilities and reveals what he knows of the demon’s plans. Can they gather enough force to restore the barrier keeping the demons at bay? Or will the magical creatures that were forced from the general population be unwilling to stop the barrier from falling?
Resurgence: Riana. The third and final novel in the Resurgence Trilogy. Currently being planned.
Following Faith. A dark fiction novella.
Daniel’s life is going just great, that is until an old schoolmate shows up out of the blue and warns him that he will die that night. Unbelieving, Daniel ignores the warning, only changing his mind when Jared saves him from an armed robber.
It turns out that Jared has been receiving messages, messages that lead the two to move away from everything they know. But where are these messages coming from? And how can Daniel trust that what Jared is telling him is the truth?
Roma’s Story. A YA/supernatural novel.
Roma has always known she was strange, possibly a little crazy, considering the rest of her family are completely nuts, but that never stopped her from trying to live a normal life.
As she approaches her 18th birthday she finds her family acting even stranger than normal and uncovers a secret that rocks her world – the woman she thought was her mother is not. So where is her biological mother, and why the elaborate cover up?
Mocha Nihilism. A general fiction novella.
Christy has always felt like an outcast because she doesn’t drink coffee – it’s gotten so bad that she now loathes the stuff, and the people who drink it. But Christy has been given the opportunity to do something about it.
Recruited to be an inside man, girl – woman – for a secret organization it is her job to infiltrate the system of Starbucks and help find a way to bring it down from the inside.
The Consign Mate. My first space novel!
Mel is a failure, technically, and as such is being shipped of planet as part of a work gang to settle a new planet. When they arrive, it seems she is the only one that finds a series of accidents and mishaps menacing – a fear that is confirmed when she encounters a strange entity.
With their lives and place on the new planet threatened, what will Mel have to do to protect herself and the people she has come to love?
Chasing Ascension: Writing begins Nov 1st.
People have begun to disappear from the streets, but no-one knows where to, or why. Despite this Lissa and Jareth, twins and ‘acquisition agents’, still need to make a living, so when they are offered a huge sum to retrieve a book from a rundown temple, they are willing to run the risk. But it turns out that the book is not what it seems and as people are being murdered in the streets outside, Lyssa and Jareth find themselves infected with a strange code and sealed, unconscious, within the temple.
When they are woken several years later, it seems that life in their post-apocalyptic world has only gotten worse – the Gods have made themselves visible and have all but enslaved those who remain. The twins, guided by spirits from another dimension, must find a way to shatter the Gods signal and free humanity to seek ascension.

I am new to Nano this year, and I’ve been snooping around on your blog, along with a some others I found on the Nano Forums.
I hope you start sending some of these off into the real world soon! It’s amazing to see all you’ve written since the 2006 Nano.
Congrats on the pending arrival of your little girl, too. Best of luck! I’m mothering two daughters at the moment, and while my writing time is, um, sparse, we’re having loads of fun!
Sarah
Hey Sarah
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you stopped to say Hi. It’s great to hear that you are doing NaNo and I will be sure to cheer you on! It’s a wonderful experience and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.
I think ‘loads of fun’ is probably the best way to describe it! lol
Now I’ll know who to turn to for help with writing while raising two daughters
Way hey, another SF writer! Great to hear.
Although, with all those finished manuscripts…time to send some babies out into the world
[...] Works in Progress [...]
Wow! This is quite the list of projects! I’m really very impressed – I cannot multitask story projects for the life of me. I wish I had that capability!
well, I’m not sure I know another way! lol I need to break things up, and working on a different project gets me far enough away from a story to be able to look at it critically when its time for revision.
Looking at the list again I realize it’s not bad for three years work! lol
I wouldn’t call that bad at all! Those all sound fantastic, too.
Not bad for three years work? OMG! It takes me a year to write a novel! I am officially impressed.
Well, only one of those is being shopped around at the moment… I think next year I need to knuckle down and work on revision and editing. It’s very easy to write a first draft, but the real work comes in the revision.
